Harmony Lodge #9 F.&A.M.

2015-2016

Hello Brothers,
We are at the mid point of our Harmony calendar year with plenty of business still to accomplish before my year is completed. Your participation is crucial in order for us to obtain the goals we set for ourselves each and every year, so please make every effort to contribute to help make the remainder of this year successful.
Speaking of success, we just had our Fellow Craft degree a few weeks ago. Our six candidates led by brother Junior Deacon Rob Izzy did a fantastic job in showing themselves proficient in the Entered Apprentice Degree. It was quite impressive to see considering the limited amount of time they had to get ready. Our officers were equally impressive in initiating the candidates in the Fellow Craft Degree. I would be remiss if I did not thank those who filled in during the degree. Rob Lindberg as Sentinel and especially Jason Gail who, with relatively short notice, took on the duties of Senior Deacon which as everyone knows includes the middle chamber lecture and is no small undertaking. Incredible work Jason!

Another success this month was the central masonic district charity event organized by our very own Junior Warden Mickey Torgan. This year funds were raised to help pay for the Rainbow International Supreme Assembly sessions to be held here in Rhode Island for the first time ever. Rainbow Girls from all over the country and from others parts of the world will be coming here this summer. Nearly 100 people showed up for a dinner and penny social held here at the lodge. Calling it a success would be an understatement. Thank you to everyone who helped Mickey with the event. I’m sure he was very grateful to receive the help.

For our social event this month we went to a vineyard tour at Leyden Farm Vineyards. I found it educational hearing about several types of wines and how one differs from another or what food is typically served with it. The best part of coarse was tasting it. Afterwards there was a pot luck dinner hosted by the Edwards family. It was great to just sit back, relax and have fellowship with the brothers their wives and friends.

This will be my last message until the end of the summer but that does not mean nothing is happening so be sure to check the events page and inserts for additional information. In particular but not limited to the Master Masons degree, Lodge Picnic, and charity golf tournament.

Until next time God Bless

Al Anton, Worshipful Master
