Worshipful Master

Harmony Lodge #9 F.&A.M.

Wardens, Brethren and Family,

With the approach of June and Harmony’s summer recess, it’s an appropriate time to reflect on the first half of our year; where half our events lay behind us and half before. I would be remiss if I didn’t first speak on our May Regular Communication. I couldn’t be more impressed with the showing of brothers from within and visiting Harmony, not only was there a fantastic attendance but their involvement in Fidelity Chapter’s Initiatory Degree was beyond what anyone could have asked for. If it put a little more pressure on Fidelity’s Master Councilor, Danny Harrison, you wouldn’t have known it. Danny along with his officers put on a fantastic degree! We couldn’t be more thankful. I encourage all the newly made Honorary DeMolay to show their appreciation by attending one of Fidelity’s meetings in the future.

The first half of our year has had its setbacks, but I couldn’t be happier to see the Lodge coming back into the swing of things. Harmony is returning to the Lodge we all know and love, as it was before COVID hit. Thank you, Worshipful Brother Connor, and Worshipful Brother Desplaines, for holding Harmony together through those difficult times. Your efforts set us up for being able to continue our traditions of conferring degrees and welcoming new Brothers to our beloved Craft. It has allowed our officers to move forward and prepare ourselves for all the great events this summer and the rest of our current year.

Speaking of summer, we have a lot going on for our Harmony Picnic, which will be held in conjunction with the other lodges from the central district. We are fast approaching our Annual Charity Golf Tournament in July to benefit R.I. Special Olympics. This charity means a lot to me personally and I am excited to see many of you there. If you haven’t registered with your foursome yet, do it today. Worshipful Brother Dave Desplaines is hosting a Charity Corn Hole Tournament to raise funds for Harmony’s Masonic Angel Fund. As always be on the lookout for more events being hosted by our Lodge and our Fellowcraft Club.

As we begin our summer and enjoy our much-deserved family time, I ask you to take the time to reach out to your brothers and family in Harmony. Just because we aren’t meeting in blue Lodge doesn’t mean we can’t get together at each other homes, a restaurant or down at the Masonic Youth Center for and impromptu cookout.

Fraternally yours,

Worshipful Joshua A.D. Edwards
