Greetings Harmony Brothers & Family! I’m excited for everyone to meet our 5 new Entered Apprentices, as they have taken their first step into a larger world. As active as Harmony is, I’m sure you will. One of the moments of our Entered Apprentice Degree that I’ll cherish was watching Brother Senior Steward obligate his own brother. Your Ritual was on point Brother Senior Steward. I’m sure it made the moment even more special for both you and Adam.
I would like to thank Brother Kyle Gamache for making our February meeting a success! The complexity of flavors and the process of how you brewed 3 distinctly different craft beers was amaz- ing! Thank you to the young men of Fidelity Chapter of DeMolay for conferring the DeMolay de- grees on me during our Official Visitation on Sunday, February 16th. It’s an honor and a pleasure!
March is Game Dinner time! As most of you know we’ll need all hands–in to help bring our equipment to the Cranston Portuguese Club on Friday evening, February 28th. Prep cooking on Sat- urday, February 29th and of course Sunday, March 1st which is the day of our Game Dinner. Its a great couple of days of work and sharing in fellowship!
On Tuesday, March 3rd Harmony has the pleasure of hosting our R.W.D.D.G.M. Gil Fontes for his Official Visitation. He’ll also be presenting the 50 Year Medal to a few of Harmony’s members. Come on out, celebrate with us and show your support for these Brothers! Grab your Masonic pass- ports as we’ll be going to show our support for Harmony’s own, Grand Master Kenneth Poyton’s Visitation to Redwood Lodge #35 on Monday March 9th at 7:00 PM. Harmony will be attending Fi- delity’s Installation of Officers will be on Friday, March 27th at 7:30 PM. The young men are excited to have us come and I’m always impressed with their Ritual! Speaking of Ritual, our Officers are al- ready preparing for our Fellowcraft Degree, which be held on Saturday, March 28th at 10:00 AM. The Middle Chamber which will be given by Brother Senior Deacon Jeremy Newton will be nothing short of fantastic! I’m looking forward to our April Regular Communication on Tuesday, April 7th. The Woodridge Assembly of Rainbow Girls will host their annual “April Fools Dinner” (Breakfast) for our dinner that evening. The funds raised for the dinner that evening will help raise funds for the young ladies Grand Assembly trip to Maine in May. They’ll also be doing an opening within our meeting to “recruit” some new Rainbow Girl members! An evening sure to be delightful! Remember to save the date for our Grand Master’s Testimo- nial Dinner on Saturday, April 25th at Twelve Acres. Get your reservations & menu choices in to Brother treasurer James Rapson no later than April 19th. Harmony will also be hosting our Ladies of Harmony Spring Luncheon on Saturday, May 2nd at Twin Oaks. Brother Junior Deacon James LaFitte will be taking reservations and coordinating rides from our Brothers for any Ladies in need.
After thanking our Past Masters of Harmony during our last meeting, I made mention about having a whole new understanding, respect & perspective on being the Worshipful Master. I truly do. It the little details, the behind the scenes look at what a Worshipful Master is. Having deeply invested himself and his time. It’s not just learning the Ritual. the re- hearsals, board meetings, etc. It’s the moments that you connect with senior members of the Lodge that you check–in on routinely. It’s having deep personal conversations when a Brother is in need of relief. It’s when you notice you’ve improved on your Masonic Memorial Service Ritual, because you’re learned to keep it together and stay strong for the Brothers & families our departed Brothers have left behind. Those that have come before me have done the same. Only having been in this chair for 3 short months, it has really made me appreciate the real work of the Craft. The efforts you all have made in your time as the Worshipful Master of Harmony and the good council you share.
